I've got a good power adapter I can use with a spare magsafe cord I have. I'm going to be without an adapter for a few days, so I'm going to put one together from my collection of parts I've saved over the years. Replacement MagSafe cord- I found mine on eBay for like $16. Capacitors can hold a charge for a while so it's best to leave the adapter unplugged for a bit prior to working on it.

After considering the additional cost and time to drive 60 miles I chose to order from MacBookadapter. I was able to get a genuine refurbished replacement from them + a wall plug cord, 2 year warranty, and expedited shipping for $54. Macbookadapter is not the only online source but most were cheap knock-offs. I checked the local stores and Best Buy was the closest retailer 30 miles away at $80.
